Sea in the Box
A gift for someone dear to me.
I used acrylic paint for the lower part and watercolours for the upper.

The Sea
a poem by Kahlil Gibran
In the still of the night
As man slumbers behind the folds,
the forest proclaims:
As man slumbers behind the folds,
the forest proclaims:
"I am the powerThe sea remains quiet, saying to itself,
Brought by the sun from
The heart of the earth."
"I am the power."The rock says,
"The ages erected me as a monumentThe sea remains silent saying to itself,
Until the Judgment Day."
"I am the monument."The wind howls
"I am strong,The sea remains quiet, saying to itself,
I separate the heavens from the earth."
"The wind is mine."The river says
"I am the pure waterThe sea remains silent saying to itself,
That quenches the thirst of the earth."
"The river is mine."The summit says,
"I stand high like a starThe sea remains quiet saying to itself,
In the center of the sky."
"The summit is mine."The brain says,
"I am a ruler; The sea remains slumbering saying, in its sleep,
The world is in those who rule."'
"All is mine."
